Iron Oxide 2-lines Ferrihydrite Formula: FeOOH Core Loss

Submitted by Alex Gloter, February 8, 2008.

Source / Purity: Synthetic sample (precipitation from iron nitrate, see Cornell and Schwertmann, ISBN 3-527-30274-3)

Author Comments: 2-lines ferrihydrite also called 2l HFO (hydrous ferric oxide) The energy calibration have been done by measuring the EELS spectra of this phase with respect to the EELS spectra of an Hematite sample. The Hematite and 2l-HFO samples beeing deposited onto the same grid. The hematite O-K prepeak maxima have been set at 529.4 and 530.6 eV. Energy resolution improved by Richardson-Lucy deconvolution Analyst: A. Gloter, A. Chen. Temperature: Room.
